MARINE PARK
Peristera island
We leave Patitiri by boat and head along the coastline of Alonnisos and across to the coast of Peristera. We make for the large natural bay of Vassiliko where our walk to the southern tip of Peristera bay begins.
Our route takes us past traditional cottages and threshing circles, through olive groves and up over the hills with spectacular views back to Alonnisos and the other islands of the Marine Park. We pass by a ruined hill top settlement, a natural spring trickling from the rocks and then make the short climb to a marked trig point for the view. We then begin our descent past more olive groves and cottages before arriving at a small secluded beach where our boat will be waiting for us and we can enjoy a swim before our B-B-Q lunch is served on the beach.
After relaxing for a while we will re-board our boat and explore some of the coastline and small bays of Peristera before heading back to Alonnisos and Patitiri harbour.
